Scutellaria lateriflora
Scutellaria, derived from the Latin word "scutella," meaning "little dish." Sepals form this dish at the base of the flowers. Lateriflora means "flowering on the side," refers to the blooms that grow just along one side of its flower stalks. 
Native to North America, Indigenous peoples have long used this plant & its roots to promote kidney health, menstruation, breast pain, & expel afterbirth.
